This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how you stay in control when using the WellNest mobile application and related services (the App). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.
1. Information We Collect
What you give us
When you sign up, we ask for a few essentials so we can create your account. This includes your first name, username, email address, and password. You can choose to add extra details like your last name, birthday, or state. Optional profile details are not publicly visible unless you choose to share them through App features or settings.
If you sign up or log in through a third-party service, we may receive information such as your name, email address, or account identifier from that service.
What gets collected automatically
As you use the App, we automatically receive certain information such as your device type, operating system, app performance data, crash logs, and analytics. This helps us keep things running smoothly and fix issues quickly.
App Permissions
Depending on how you use WellNest, the App may ask for permission to access certain device features. For example, we may ask for permission to send push notifications, access your camera, or access your photo library.
If you enable push notifications, we may collect and use a device push token to send reminders, updates, buddy activity, check-in nudges, and other App-related notifications.
If you choose to upload photos, we collect the photos you submit and related content you add, such as captions, check-in details, or progress updates.
You can manage App permissions, including notifications, camera access, and photo library access, through your device settings.
Your goals, progress, and community activity
Because WellNest is built around growth, connection, and community, we store information about your goals, milestones, photos, check ins, captions, comments, and buddy interactions. You can choose what to keep private and what to share with others. You are always in control of your visibility settings.
WellNest is a wellness and personal growth app, not a medical provider, health care provider, or emergency service. Please avoid sharing medical, emergency, or highly sensitive information in the App unless you are comfortable storing it in your account and, depending on your settings, sharing it through App features.
Some information is connected to your account, such as your name, username, and device identifier. Other information may be aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized so it is not reasonably linked back to you.
Payments and Future Subscriptions
WellNest is currently free to use. We may offer paid features, subscriptions, or other purchases in the future. If we do, payments may be processed by Apple, the App Store, another app store, or another payment provider, depending on where and how the purchase is made. We do not store your full payment card information.
Legal information for users in regions with data protection laws
We process your data so that we can provide and improve the App, meet legal requirements, and when applicable because you gave us permission.
2. How We Use Information
We use your information to run and improve WellNest. This includes creating and managing your account, personalizing your experience, matching you with buddies, supporting community features, and keeping the App stable and secure. We also look at aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized usage trends to understand what works well and what needs improvement.
We may send reminders, feature updates, or newsletters. You can opt out of non essential emails at any time.
We do not sell your data.
3. How We Share Information
We share your information only with trusted service providers who help us operate WellNest. These include:
AWS for secure hosting
Firebase for analytics, app performance, and crash reporting
Our email provider for sending updates and account related messages
These partners can use your information only to support WellNest.
We may also share information if required by law or if needed to protect WellNest, our users, or others. Community content, comments, check-ins, photos, buddy interactions, and other shared content may be visible to other users depending on your settings and how you use the App. For example, if you post in a community feature, comment on another user’s activity, interact with a buddy, or choose to share progress, other users may be able to see your username, profile information you choose to share, and the content or activity you submit. Shared content may not be fully private, even if you later delete it, because other users may have already viewed, copied, saved, or taken screenshots of it. We may review user-generated content if it is reported, if we believe it violates our Terms of Service, or if needed to protect users, WellNest, or the App.
If you open a link inside the App that leads to another site or service, their privacy practices apply. We encourage you to review their policies.
4. Analytics and Similar Technologies
We use analytics tools, SDKs, and similar technologies to support performance, understand App usage, fix bugs, and improve WellNest. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or social media pixels.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored using AWS services in the United States. We use technical safeguards, including encryption where appropriate, to help protect your information. All App traffic uses HTTPS encryption, and passwords are stored securely using industry standard methods. While no system can be guaranteed completely secure, we continuously review our safeguards to help keep your information safe.
6. Account Deletion and Data Retention
You can delete your account at any time in the App.
If you delete your account:
Your personal information such as your name and email is permanently removed within 30 days. Any goal activity we retain after account deletion is kept only in aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized form and is not reasonably linked back to you.
We keep account information while your account is active and for up to 30 days after deletion. Aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized analytics may be kept for up to 24 months.

You are always in control of your information. You can:

Opt out of marketing emails at any time
Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under laws like GDPR or CCPA, including the right to request deletion, correction, or data portability. We respond within all legally required timeframes.
We may use automated tools to help personalize your experience, suggest goals, support buddy matching, recommend content, or improve the App. These tools are used to support your WellNest experience and are not intended to make decisions that have legal, financial, medical, or similarly significant effects on you.
8. Age Restrictions
WellNest is designed for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from a minor, we delete it promptly.
9. International Users
If you access the App from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. When required by law, we use safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses to protect your data.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a significant change, we will notify you through the App or by email before the new version takes effect.
